Brunched today at the Cup cafe for the first time in years. My last visit was with my last pregnancy with my youngest. I would get here early on the weekends to get one of their cinnamon rolls they only make on the weekends and on special. I don't know how I haven't reviewed them before. I'm not going to lie, I came for that special, but knew if they were out; I would happily find something else. We came out later trying to miss the rush of after balloon race crowd. Today, they had a pumpkin pancake special that I had to have in lieu of their cinnamon roll special. My sweet tooth was satisfied! Service was good and not too long of a wait. There's always a wait here, but it's so worth it. We showed up hungry and left with full happy bellies. We'll be back and hope to have a cinnamon roll on my next weekend visit.

The Cup is a charming, family-operated restaurant that stands out as a local favorite for its traditional American breakfast options, healthy choices, and welcoming atmosphere. Located in a sunny, cozy space, The Cup offers a delightful dining experience with its open kitchen concept, allowing guests to watch their meals being prepared if you chose to sit at the open seat area ( aka bar area ) . Despite its popularity, particularly Labor Day, when many restaurants are closed, we were fortunate to snag a table without a wait. They are open , partly due to its reputation among Burning Man crowds, who flock here for their pre- and post-festival meals, making it a long-standing tradition for many. The service at The Cup is top-notch, characterized by attentiveness and genuine friendliness. The food is consistently delicious, blending comfort with health-conscious options that cater to all tastes. From classic breakfast dishes to daily specials, there's something to satisfy every palate. The kids' menu is also thoughtfully crafted, making it a great spot for families. Overall, The Cup is highly recommended. While you might need to be patient for a table, the experience is more than worth it. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this gem of a restaurant offers a warm, inviting atmosphere and exceptional food that makes every visit special.

Came for lunch. Both my wife's Tuna Melt and my Patty Melt were amazing. My Patty Melt was a bit heavy on the onions but a simple fix.

First of all, the food was amazing! We could tell that it was made with love and passion. Secondly, the service was really good. We had really friendly servers. Lastly, it's super cute in there! The vibe has a homely, familiar feel. Will definitely be returning.

Great breakfast spot in the Reno area! Casual and homey. Friendly staff and great service as soon as you walk in. Good food and good food at reasonable prices. Coffee was tasty too, which was a plus! We got the Mexican scramble and the crispy French toast. The scramble comes with their own homemade sausages and corn/flour tortillas. The crispy French toast was really good. Crunchy/crispy bits. Not too sweet. Perfect for those who like to mix savory and sweet! Would highly recommend!

Nice breakfast this morning with my Friend. Busy for a weekday but the wait was only ten minutes. Cute diner with lots of seating. They only serve breakfast and lunch here and we were glad to enjoy a meal here today. Everyone was friendly and we ordered after looking over the menu and then our food came out within 20 minutes. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and home fries. I love they use red potatoes with just a bit of onion and peppers. They were very tasty. My eggs were poached to perfection and the sliced honey ham was delicious! Better than Canadian bacon in my opinion. The bernaise sauce was so good with just the right amount of tang not sour and so creamy I could have slurped it up! I definitely recommend this dish! As usual I could only eat half so took home the rest in a to go container offered by our server. (As a side note, I didn't mark down for this, but I really wish restaurants would have more small/half portions as an option for although I'll eat the leftovers, they aren't always as good the next day.)

I've been enjoying The Cup Cafe for years. It's just around the corner from my office and who doesn't enjoy having breakfast for lunch? This was exactly my thought this morning when I had to be in the office very early and I didn't get a chance to grab breakfast. Chicken fried steak for lunch? I don't mind if I do! I took a coworker who also enjoys The Cup and in we went. The Cup resembles a country kitchen on one side and a classic diner on the other. Both sides serve the same good food delivered by a well-seasoned staff who is always on point. While walking in I noticed the daily specials. One of them was homemade corned beef hash and eggs -- my second favorite breakfast combo. Decisions, decisions... I ultimately chose the hash while my dining companion chose the chicken fried steak. The hash came with two eggs which I had poached, crispy hash browns, and a big fluffy biscuit accompanied by a bowl of sausage gravy. It was a good thing I was really hungry. The hash was simple but perfectly prepared. Crispy chunks of corned beef mixed with little nuggets of fried potatoes easily soaked up the runny yolks of the poached eggs. It was nothing short of brilliant. I have only had hash this good at my favorite breakfast/bbq place (I'm sure you can guess which one). On a whim, I asked for a small cup of Hollandaise for my hash browns. I'd had the Hollandaise here before, but this was different. It was creamy, smooth, and had a definite hit of lemon. This did NOT come out of a packet. I asked our server if it was made from scratch. The server admitted they started with a pre-made base, but added their own touch to it. This really got my attention. It was so close to perfect Hollandaise that I didn't care it wasn't technically from scratch. Clearly something has changed for the better at The Cup. If you've tried the food here before, try it again and soon. In one meal they shot from being in my Top 20 breakfast places to Top 3. Seriously impressive food. I cannot wait to bring The Boss here. She is going to lose her fuzzy little mind. The only thing which can make great food better is to share it with someone you love. This is worth sharing.

Comfort brunch, made with love, and served with a smile? A warm and inviting environment, themed with an ode to classic dining establishments? This is definitely the brunch spot if you're seeking all of the above! A local Reno staple, set in the heart of the City, and also a tourist attraction - I overheard a lot of talk coming from people visiting, this is the place to check out for both locals and those visiting the area. We opted for the following dishes: I got the chorizo scrambled eggs with corn tortilla and hashed browns (you can't go wrong with good chorizo) and it definitely didn't disappoint! Well seasoned and my preferred ratio of chorizo:egg, more chorizo than egg! My husband opted for the breakfast croissant (I snagged a bite) and it was DELICIOUS! I may opt for that next time! The service was so friendly and welcoming, you'll never leave feeling disappointed. Overall, check it out, this is one of our new favorite brunch spots!!

I ordered over medium eggs (most times they don't turn out right). The eggs were PERFECT! Potatoes, perfect flavor and ratio to bell peppers. Biscuits were soft and the sausage gravy delish! Not sure why husband and I waited so long to come back. Very generous on the serving size.

Went here for the first time on a Saturday morning. Wait wasn't too bad at 9:30 am. I can't do onions and I looked at all the scrambles for onions. I got the southern scramble. Overall it wasn't bad but the potatoes were cooked with onions. I left half of it on the table because they were too much. The French toast was good. Coffee was not. Our server wasn't in a good mood and it showed. Given the large menu I'd try again but I'll say no onions this time even if they aren't listed.
